The Book is Due!

I hate deadlines.  But someone has paid me to write a book.  Typically when someone pays you to do something, and you've already taken some of that payment up front, they're likely to give you a deadline.  So I now have one of those.  Deadlines.  It's breathing down my neck like Godzilla in a really bad channel 9 afternoon movie from the 70s.

So I'm writing.  The book.  I'm not blogging.  Even though @lizbrooks keeps telling me I need to blog.  I keep telling her I can't blog right now because I have to write a book.  If I'm blogging right now, it means I'm cheating on the book.  And I have already accepted partial payment for the writing of this book.  Nobody pays me to blog.  Are you following my logic here @lizbrooks?

The book is about the simultaneous pregnancies my partner Sarah and I expereienced, and the eventual births of our children, the most amazing things that have ever happened to me in my entire life - Thomas &  Kate.  I'm not going to blog the whole story here, since I am writing a book about it, at least to the best of my ability.

I can tell you that Thomas turned one on February 1st and his sister Kate turns one tomorrow (2/24).  I can't believe we all survived it.  That first year was pretty hairy, believe me.  If you've ever had a baby, imagine trying to write a book during the first year.  Now imagine two babies instead of one and writing the book.  Now imagine @lizbrooks pressuring you to blog with two babies instead of one while you're trying to write a book.

Don't get me wrong.  I love @lizbrooks.  And I love that she loves my blogs.  But I actually have a book to write and a cake to bake for Kate's first birthday.  So I'll blog more in a few weeks, after I hand the book in.

See you soon....

  1. We love when you blog, so Lizzy is right about that. But, we know why you have been, so Lizzy stopped pestering Hendo. ;-)

Those two are adorable and Thomas has about as much hair as I did at that age. hehe

  3. Deadlines are brutal...but necessary. Especially when writing. It can be so difficult to get words down on the page, and sometimes you need to be forced to do it. Love your blog and can't wait to read the book! My partner and I are looking forward to reading about you and your family's unique and incredible experience.

    All the best,
    Kim

  5. I'll definitely buy a copy of your book. But I agree with the others, I love the blogs. I think the fact that we share a very similar sense of humor is the best thing ever. :)

Cuuuuute babies!! Mine are all furry and four legged at this point.

Oh... Great picture of you guys (at the top of the blog)!

  7. Hi.Love the new band photo. You guys are looking good.Your kids are very cute and getting big judging from the picture. They must keep you very busy.Looking forward to your new book.I will definitely buy it.Maybe it will become a New York Times best seller. You are a great blogger with a great sense of humor and you have a unique story so you never know!

Hope the band plays a gig on LI in the future.Wish I could get away for some of the other shows in the area but I am a caregiver for my mom(she's 89) and I just can't get away to concerts like I used to.Between work and mom,my husband and I are just stressed to the max so a LI show is about all we could manage.

Anyway, best of luck with the shows that you have lined up and with your new book. Can't wait to read it.

    All the best,
    Phyl
